My whimsical art has appeared in over 40 children's books. The cut paper illustrations reflect my interest in combining color, pattern and texture. I grew up in Yonkers, New York, and graduated from Pratt Institute. After many years in Atlanta I moved to be by the sea on Cape Cod.

When I was a little girl, my sister and I spent hours making our own paper doll collections. As I grew up, I never stopped playing with paper. My illustrations are collages of cut paper, with added details in pastel and colored pencil.
Different paper will catch my eye, sometimes it's color, sometimes it's the pattern and sometimes it's the texture. All three elements combine as I work out the puzzle of putting the pieces together. My studio is filled with wonderful paper to choose from and as I work, my desk and floor are covered with a flurry of snips of colored paper.
